One of my obsessions is Golden Goose Deluxe Brand. They were founded in 2000 after bringing together the talents of Francesca Rinaldo and Alessandro Gallo in Italy. Over the years, they have grown into a huge designer brand with retail locations in multiple countries, and it’s one that many fashion lovers are drawn to.
I’ve followed Golden Goose for ages and I would often check out the collection on FarFetch, as they always had an curated selection, but I never ended up getting any because I always found them a bit pricey and resembled Converse too much, so they were always on my mental wishlist. A couple of years ago, Adam was the one who first got into the brand and he actually got his first pair of their Superstar sneakers last year, which was what inspired me to look into them more. Having seen his in person and realizing the uniqueness of each pair because they’re artisanal, I was even more curious. As the Golden Goose Superstar sneakers are pre-distressed and made to seem broken-in, they are all hand done so they’re truly one-of-a-kind. Some have stronger distressing than others, so there’s a whole spectrum.
If you’re choosing in person, it might be a good idea to look at multiple pairs and select from them, but if you’re ordering online, you have to trust the surprise!The pair of sneakers that I originally fell in love with first are the ones above in the main image, as they’ve been available for years, but I never ended up purchasing them.
I actually ended up getting the Shopbop-exclusive silver pair, and they’re a pair I have used occasionally (see here and my Golden Goose review here). I absolutely love them! I bought another pair in the same model and customized them with new laces + colored accents, so they’re really fresh! I also own a pair of plush burgundy style, and goldsneakers.org two pairs of high-cut styles! I do definitely want a new black version, but I have a pair of Converse in black canvas, so I’m not sure I should get both, even though they’re different.
